We decided to go to International House of Pancakes on Epps Bridge Road in Oconee County for a nice sunday breakfast…what a mistake!
QUESTION:
how does a cook grill up a sandwich, and not see that the corner of the bread is GREEN with MOLD???
ANSWER: There is no reasonable answer…other than, “they served the GARBAGE on purpose.”
I mean…HOW can this health hazard get to the customer???
There were plenty of chances to catch it…you get the bread out of the bag(1st chance), you put the sandwich together(2nd chance), you grill the sandwich and flip it(3rd and 4th chance) , then you cut the sandwich in half(5th chance) and place it on the plate(6th chance).
then the server carries it to the table(7th chance to notice the moldy bread).
I was hungry…I started eating the sandwich. robin was on the other side of the table and she sees it…”oh GROSS, your sandwich is MOLDY!”
I just about puked it up right there.
words can’t describe my disgust…I hope I don’t get sick from eating their TRASH SANDWICH!
I’ll NEVER spend another dime at ANY IHOP…and y’all better inspect your food, if you decide to eat there.
the power of blogging is stronger than the moldy food served at International House Of Pancakes.

june 28 weekend reports;
me and ty and robin went to tybee island on saturday and surfed at the south jetty for a few hours before high tide. we had fun. then we went to Cafe Loco and got some tasty seafood. it was a good day.
The ESA Tybee contest was postponed or cancelled or whatever…due to lack of surfable waves or something. whatever…there was parking and our waves were totally un-crowded. fine.
The Tybee skimboarding contest was at the other end of the Island, so we din’t see nuthin. should be results up on 17thskreekboys website soon? ummm, yeah…here’s the link to their skim pics page;
http://www.17thskreetbros.com/4-19-08.html
there was a mega-party at The Cowtown Ramp…saturday and sunday…25 bands…6 kegs…countless epic tales of shredding and bleeding. if you missed it, dude…you missed it.
the Some dude association held a blader/skater/bmx contest at spoa and didn’t tell anyone.(well yeah…I guess I saw a flyer somewhere that said something about frootbooters and $20 to skate a free skatepark and didn’t read any further…). so like 8 people showed up, kaden and kai dominated the event and sounds like everyone got some free stuff to take home. cool.
spoa folks are checkin out the donkey creeks thursday night 8til? while the “real” skaters will be hittin the verts at the mall food court.
that’s all for now…

another evening of semi-underground downhill skateboard riding, sliding, carving, street lugers and high speed launch ramps. june 21, 7pm at the biggest baddest skateboarding hill in ATHENS.
The hill’s a giant “halfpipe” with no cross traffic. verrry nice. get location/directions from Skate Shop of Athens. (I’m not posting location here, for fear of the google)

if you’re a downhillin newbie…I strongly reccomend trying the hill from halfway up the first time…then change yer drawers, tighten your trucks and try it from a little higher up the next time.

this just in from the blackberry innernetts…
Today in NC, Lindsey took first in her age group and won overall for
women. She got some crazy air over some hips and did a long 5050 grind.
Kaden got first in his age group and 7th overall. He lost in the
second round of the joust. He finally landed his dream trick in a contest
the backside invert he followed that with some huge air and a layback
air. Kai won his third straight age group concrete rodeo he lost first
round of joust. He landed an awesome late grab over a hip for the
first time and aired out. We will send pics when we get back.

The Weather was Hot, like the skating that went down.
The Commentator was Smooth, like the concrete that was ridden upon.
The Parents and Organizers who donated time, effort, and awards to make this event happen are waaay cool, like the breeze that showed up from time to time.
All the skaters pushed their limits, but CornDog pushed it just a little too hard. Good luck with the injured arm…get well soon!
Subway had sammiches out there and were helping donate towards Phase2 of SPOA…thanks. yummm.
Everyone ripped it up. I know I saw a lot of new tricks and progression by the young guns today; Kaden’s frontside layback air is sick. Lindsea’s getting backside airs over coping. Jason’s backside boneless might have been the trick of the day? Old School’s coffin reminded me of Rick at the Crazy Lou’s Mr.P’s Street Thang. Connor nailed a sick transfer from the 6′, up over and into the snake run. and the list goes on…
I know I saw a few cameras out there…and we’ve got the contest photo gallery set up, so there should be some cool pictures rolling in soon.
later skaters!

We headed East…to Tybee Island for the day. We arrived at the South End about an hour before high tide. Perfect Timing! There was a mushy thigh-waist high windswell. I got some pretty fun rides before the tide started going out(and taking the waves back to sea with it). There were still some “peaks” kicking off the end of the jetty…so I sat off the end of the jetty and picked up a few decent rights. Then along comes Robin and the camera about the time I caught a nice one(and she wasn’t lookin!). So I headed right back out, and there’s another nice one lining up. I didn’t bother to look back and see where I was in relation to the jetty. I jumped on it and took the drop…right about the time I’m bottom turning it sucks out from under me and I see Barnacle covered boulders…I tried to hold the turn and maybe, just maybe…then I heard a loud clunking, crunching, scraping sound(I immediately had that Maverick’s rocks scene in Riding Giants run through my head)…about the same time, I felt my thigh and hip contact rock with a solid SLAM, as my hand, leg, and feet cheese gratered on the Barnacles. I eventually made my way off the jaggedy rockpile and headed on down to Cafe Loco for lunch…and of course, we’ve added 2 more souvenir Wet Willies cups to our collection.
you can’t bleed if you’re just sittin there, watchin someone else do it for you…

First of all…I’d like to thank all the loyal spoa locals who showed up and got their GRINDS on, as well as the spectators who cheered them on to new heights in GRINDAGE! If we get a crowd even half that size at next weekend’s SPOA event, that’ll be sayin’ something.
Cool overcast weather greeted the competitors, and a gusty wind pushed riders into the silo with extra speed. Many bricks were ground, and trucks got lighter. It was a fun competition indeed…and there was more noise in the park than I’ve heard in a long time…coo-ell.
First Place GROM was Doug! A brand new set of shining INDY trucks* was sitting on the bricks, waiting to be claimed by a grind…Doug took the trucks, by getting his first Brick Grinds EVER! congratulations…
And in the “adult” division…after much bickering and threats and name calling and crying, it came out a 3 waaay tie.
the Judges scored them as;
rick ty2k patio
ty2k patio rick
patio rick ty2k
too close to call.
“you” shoulda’ been there…
