Outta’ StAug, Surf Station’s Forecast is usually a good indicator for the North Florida/Georgia area. It’s also fun to look at all their surfboards online…

somebody went and stole the GRINDLINE plaque from our skatepark. that’s just sad. and STUPID.
It’s YOUR skatepark, why do you wanna go and do something like that that to YOUR skate spot???

The PROS come to SKATE.
They aren’t here to see YOU skate...they are better than you.
They are not here to sponsor you...they are here to SKATE.
If you put your board down and let them get some lines worked out, you won’t be disappointed…you will see some MAGIC goin’ down!(hey, they’re PROS…they know some cool stuff!)
heck, you might even pay attention and learn a new line from them!

At the skate rock tour…”the spoa locals were blowin’ up!”. Yeah, like they can(and DO) on a daily basis. The PROS only had a couple hours to visit our park, then they’d be headed down the road…In reality, the local kids were hogging the park, cutting off the visiting pros, and ruining what coulda’ been the baddest session ever at spoa. TonyT gave up and walked around with his baby. Sammy Baca got cut off repeatedly and went and sat on the bleachers. woot woot, some demo THAT turned out to be! see photo gallery here
so when you see the latest Thrasher(skate rock issue) and think, “why aren’t there any pics from SPOA…” thank the goobers who had to get in the way…

on the other hand;

when Bacon visited a couple years back, the spoa locals showed RESPECT, and let the visitors get some lines down…that turned out to be an epic session. benji got some lines goin’ on and we got a DEMO!

so what I’m asking…who ever you are…where ever you skate…don’t be a goon. If you got PROS coming to do a demo, they’re here today, gone tomorrow… step off, let them ride, and be amazed.
Learn something from their lines.
most of all, show some RESPECT.

SKITCHING should be attempted by trained experts only!

I’m happy to report, the local government is working with the skate community to build more quality skating areas. With a giant, seldom-used tennis complex to be built at Southeast Clarke Park…local skaters will have an abundance of stairs, ledges, benches and other street terrain to SKATE and DESTROY!!! The centre court grandstands will be a prime spectator facility for skockey, shotgunning, cyber-slalom and other SKITCHING sanctioned events.(itzonnnn)
