me and steven cobb drove down to daytona for the opening week of STONE EDGE SKATEPARK(1989?). we rode the park twice, then the city/county Code people shut it down after a few days until they got stuff fixed.
we skated vacant beachfront hotel pools instead! it was siiiick.
the last time I skated Stone Edge with all the concrete remaining…the big huge blue vert ramp was still there…and it had tons of bumblebees nesting in the aging structure. so the kids who worked at the park had to run around with tennis rackets and swat the bumblebees dead, before they could get together for a swarm attack on skaters…that was some of the craziest stuff I ever saw at stone edge. the people mackin’ at ryans musta thought we was crazy.
then in 2002, they started destroying the historic concrete.
