…it was a lively event. The Summertime Sun shone down upon us and caused great sweltering. To beat the worst of the heat, the event started right at noon, as advertised. And it just kept getting hotter…
The sk8 contest brought Competition from near and far…the Palm Coast FL skaters may have the “Long Drive Award”. It was excellent to see the skaters come together and have fun competing. The levels of skating among the younger kids continues to skyrocket…quite literally.

Friday afternoon in Athens, and traffic’s already at a standstill.
Remember, on Saturday morning you’ll be travelling to Athens along with a couple hundred thousand Rabid Bulldog Fans.
The first game of the season for the #1 ranked bulldogs is gonna be packed.
if you’re coming from the North, or ATL, get on loop 10 and go around downtown to the southeast side. give yourself extra time to get here…I hear the Georgia Bowlriders event Will Start AT 12noon! They ain’t gonna wait for ya!

RETURNING TO THE SKATEPARK OF ATHENS, AUGUST 30th 2008, Noon-until ? SKITCHFEST III
THIS YEARS EVENT:
DEATHRACE-A “fixed-push”, no rules, no-holds-barred cross country race around the park. Will defending Champion Awesome James be the first to go back to back? Medals presented for First, Second and Third place finishes.
SKOCKEY-Hockey on skateboard. Winning team will be awarded the prestigious SKITCHERS CUP. Go to Academy Sports for your Skockey stick…about $10.
PARK RACE-Two cones are placed in the park. Participants cannot push once they pass the start line.The 3 fastest skaters to round the cones and cross the finish line earn medals. Its harder than it sounds!
